Black ThursdayThe day was a Thursday, late October. I had just sat down at the table, waiting for the maid to bring me the rest of my breakfast. As a part of my morning ritual, I began reading the morning newspaper, delivered everyday by the same annoying boy. I scanned over the headlines, and quickly read the short articles: a death here, suicide there and some boy trapped in a well. To me it was just the same old news; bad things happening to people below me. Then the real important part; the stock pages. I had my whole life invested in those. addictsslowly the homeless man crawled in the allyeway roughly dragging his chest on the cold cement floor littered with the scourge and grime that has destroyed so many cities. his mouth sick with the flavor of cigarette smoke from the bar he had just exited. being drunk, his sight is cloudy and distored from his regular vision. he looks ahead and sees some one shooting up. first the needle goes in shakily by the addicts right hand. his breathing shallow and his heart pumping slowyl to the beat of a death song, his thumb pushes the syringe in injecting the drug into his blood stream. the hobo seeing this quaddicts
